Testing & Laboratory is the very core of what Eurofins does. Our trained Technical Assistants prepare the samples however necessary, from extraction to enrichment, equipping state-of-the-art machines. Our Laboratory Technicians are university graduates who test the samples from a portfolio of over 200,000 analytical methods, using high-tech robotic systems and then calculating and evaluating results. It’s the Analytical Service Managers who give the final results approval, as they liaise with the laboratory and customers throughout, using their scientific and industry knowledge to support our customers. Meanwhile, our project-based roles combine entrepreneurial spirit with laboratory know-how to support laboratories in running long-term projects and improving operations. This department offers quick progression for talented young graduates, with the opportunity lead your own laboratory with unparalleled autonomy after just a few years.

Have you read our Eurofins values? They’re centred around Customer Focus and Quality, and it’s the job of the Research and Development team to ensure that the network of Eurofins laboratories upholds these values. To do so, our scientists develop more efficient and precise analytical methods to implement in labs, as well as optimising existing ones, finding ways to align this with the turnaround time and affordability that our customers expect. The team also research new components to detect in order to better protect the quality of our foods, medicines and environments. They work to expand our catalogue of analytical methods and range of new technology to keep up with rapid developments in the testing industry.

Quality is one of the Eurofins key values, and as we continue to innovate new technology and testing methods, the Quality Assurance department must keep all 900 laboratories aligned in their service. Our Quality Officers and Managers develop methodologies to assess quality along the entire customer journey, from the accuracy of the quotation and the results themselves, to turnaround time. The team conducts unannounced audits and spiked sample tests to evaluate lab methodology, equipment and performance. As each laboratory has its own organisation, strong leadership skills are vital for Quality Assurance employees – unlike at other companies, our decentralised structure makes Quality Assurance at Eurofins an amorphous and innovative department!
