Meet Adelaide, Treasury Systems Manager in Luxembourg City. Adelaide studied Economics and Commerce and then graduated from Emlyon Business School, France.

Why did you choose a career at Eurofins?
I wanted a change – something challenging but without the exhausting weekends or high pressure, so the flexibility and diversity of opportunities at Eurofins grabbed me.

How would you describe working in the Treasury department?
Treasury is a very dynamic department with many projects. I usually spend more than half a week working on different projects. There’s a great balance between corporate and classic consulting.

What’s your role on the team?
I’m at the cross-roads of everything. I work with all core treasury colleagues and everything comes through me for checking, whether that’s payments, incomings, loans, M&A. With this bigger picture, I then prepare everything for the accounting team. Judging currency risks is also an important part of my job, so that we can avoid losses.

I spend a lot of time managing our bank relations and ensuring that every new entity has a bank account set up and is fully compliant. I also manage our inter-company debts – we have over 900 independent companies at Eurofins, and I manage their payments, controlling requests, or international auditing questions. I work closely with the legal department on these tasks, and of course, there’s a strong IT Security element, too!

I love the diversity of my role and the Eurofins overview that it gives me. I’ve always preferred to communicate with many different people.

Do you have any advice for graduates joining Eurofins?
Don’t be afraid of challenge. Be ready to learn a lot and ask questions – at Eurofins, you can always ask!
