Tell us about your Eurofins journey so far!
I joined Eurofins in May 2017 because I wanted to work for a large company with impressive growth and travel opportunities. I joined as a Key Account Manager, gaining sales experience, but after six months, my manager believed I was the right kind of person to take on the challenge of running a lab. This was something I had never, ever done before! I love that Eurofins gives opportunities to people with talent who want to grow. I am now a Business Unit Manager (BUMA) for micro-food lab in Katowice and I’m in charge of around 30 people.
What does a typical day at Eurofins look like for you?
I’m responsible for the food microbiology lab, so every day I’m my own boss with one simple rule: to achieve my own goals! I cooperate with some of the biggest corporations as well as smaller retailers to conduct mainly food testing for them. My goals are to hit our Key Performance Indicators, achieve great turnaround time, and figure out how we can grow with new customers. Because I have sales knowledge, I also work with the sales team to help them understand the science. Ultimately, each day we strive to be faster, more affordable, and better!
What does Eurofins mean to you?
Being a Business Unit Manager is the best project I have ever undertaken in my life! Every day is different and this job has changed my life and changed me as a person. It’s a fast-paced and challenging environment and we work with many different cultures. At first, I had certain expectations; I was really focused on reaching my KPIs and I expected people to work in the same way. Now, I changed my way of managing people by encouraging all of them to do their best to achieve their goals. I am very proud of my team and our achievements.
