Meet Nanditha, Software Engineer at Eurofins IT Solutions India, Bengaluru, India

Why Eurofins?
I saw an exciting opening for a graduate position and went for it! I really enjoyed my interview and had heard great things about the Eurofins’ working environment from a friend, who told me it was a great place to work as a woman. Shifts are scheduled so that I can get home safely before dark, and they offer an enhanced work-life balance to those with families, too.

What does being a Software Engineer at Eurofins involve?
I work on SmartRecruiters, which is our global recruiting platform, now rolled out for 35 countries – I managed the roll-out for a few of these myself, which involves SmartRecruiters setup based on country request, local language translation and handling the legal aspects of data privacy. I work closely with HR coordinators, directors and the marketing teams to solve any issues and integrate new ideas – it’s fantastic exposure. I’m also involved with other IT projects, such as new web pages.

What does a typical day look like for you?
Every day presents new challenges as we always have new requests coming in! Eurofins has a great, enthusiastic recruiting team who always have new ideas to ensure the recruitment process is as hassle-free as possible for the candidate.

What do you enjoy most about working on Smart Recruiters?
I meet new people and new managers every day, from across the world – usually virtually, but I’ve also had the opportunity to travel. I get to learn about the working culture in their countries, which also helps me with my job – though recruitment is largely standardised, I also try to integrate any local steps into the process.

What's your favourite thing about your job?
Eurofins is a fast-growing Group where new things are implemented quickly. I’m free to come up with my own ideas, as my team always welcomes discussions. As there’s no official hierarchy as such, I can discuss issues openly and directly.

How would you describe the Eurofins work environment?
It’s amazing! We have a big office with organised sporting activities – I took part in the badminton league, for example. We also have our own gym in the office.
Importantly, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve really felt that the working environment has been clean and safe. We receive weekly COVID-19 tests and there’s a careful rotation. I was really happy when I was able to come back to the office, as I missed the working atmosphere.
But even outside of the pandemic, I feel looked out for. We have a specific Women’s Welfare team, for example.

What surprised you about us?
I was surprised by the smoothness of my transition from the learning phase to actively handling projects. There are a lot of great, free trainings available.
