Meet Eva, who graduated with a BA in Communication and Journalism from the Danish School of Media and Journalism. Eva is the Marketing Coordinator for Environment Testing in Denmark.

Why did you choose a career at Eurofins?
The ‘Eurofins spirit’ captured me. I was intrigued by the fact that if you work hard, you can achieve a lot, because you’re not assigned to one box. I also liked the international dimension and the possibility to go to other countries.

What does a typical day look like for you?
I create content and videos for our social media channels, using software like InDesign, Photoshop and Abode Illustrator. I also organise our regular webinars and create new materials such as brochures, as well as keeping our website updated – the science is also progressing, and so too must our marketing.
At the moment, I also help with the marketing of our SAFER@WORK programme, focused particularly on the COVID-19 wastewater and surface testing. For instance, I made a video guide for conducting surface testing. This has been my favourite project – getting to work across departments through SAFER@WORK.
I move quite often between locations, depending on where I’m needed!

How did you transition into a scientific company?
My background is in marketing, not science, but through regular laboratory tours across Denmark, I’ve been able to learn all about our fascinating analyses and mechanics. My background actually gives me an advantage in being the bridge between the scientists and the customers, because I can ensure that the scientific content is understandable for the average person, which is our goal.

How would you describe the Eurofins culture?
Eurofins is a company where you get to try out your ideas. There’s room to make mistakes and learn because there are always people to pick you back up.

What surprised you about Eurofins?
I was surprised by the size of our organisation and our impact. You don’t fully grasp it until you work in it! For instance, if we test soil and find that it’s contaminated, this has a huge knock-on effect on building projects.
