Meet Natalia, Deputy Head of Purchasing in Hamburg, Germany. Natalia graduated from the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg with a diploma in Business Administration and has an MBA from Edinburgh Napier University, with a focus on Leadership and Innovation.

Why did you choose a career at Eurofins?
Eurofins Group is a global leader in interesting and diverse fields, from food and environment testing to forensic services and so much more. It sounds like a cliché, but it is great to be a part of the Eurofins team to make the world a safer place. While performing our jobs in Purchasing, we contribute to a bigger picture.

What are your team’s objectives?
Our team of 17 colleagues is responsible for all purchasing requests from the German legal entities. Furthermore, we manage negotiations with suppliers to ensure that our corporate conditions are met. We also support the laboratories when they face difficulties with the suppliers. In the challenging environment of the pandemic, there are always new challenges to tackle. We continuously improve the status quo by optimising structures, processes and realising purchasing potentials.

What does a typical day look like for you?
Currently there is no typical day. You never know what will happen next. It always starts with coffee, though!

How would you describe the Eurofins work environment?
Eurofins has a fast-growing and fast-paced work environment. It never gets boring. We have a great team spirit within Eurofins, where you get full support from senior colleagues. You are always welcome to share your thoughts, new ideas or suggestions. Flat hierarchies and short decision-making processes favour the implementation of new processes and taking over responsibilities.

Any advice for graduates?
If you are a curios and ambitious person who wants to take responsibility, then Eurofins offers you a variety of different career opportunities and room for professional growth.
